The purpose of this report was to determine fair market value of the shares at separation date, in respect of a constructive trust / enrichment claim.

Reports were prepared to calculate value at two different points of time. The purposes of these reports included to negotiate the acquisition or redemption of the common shares held by one shareholder, and to determine the equalization payment for a matrimonial matter.

Hotel

HotelPreparation of a comprehensive valuation report of a privately owned Hotel. This valuation required significant economic and hotel industry research, as well as reliance on a market study and appraisal of the hotel. The purpose of this valuation was to assist in the dissolution of multiple shareholders' holdings and a purchase of shares.

Restaurant / Franchise

The operating companies held the franchise rights and operations while the holding companies held the building and land. The purpose of this report was to determine the equalization payment in matrimonial disputes. The same franchise types ranged in value from $nil to millions of dollars.

Big Thunder Sports Park

Comprehensive site evaluation of the Big Thunder Sports Park, where four different operating methodologies were considered in the potential reopening of Big Thunder, formerly a National Ski Jumping facility. A thorough market and industry analysis was completed. Interviews with representatives of international ski associations were held.

Working with a team of consultants, the thoughts and input of the nine participating First Nation communities’ representatives were gathered through a number of facilitated sessions and supported with external research and corroboration.

Water Authority Financial Plan

Financial Plan for the Thunder Bay’s Environment Division – Water Authority in accordance with Regulation 453/07 as approved by the Ontario Ministry of Environment on August 14, 2007.The process in developing this plan was focused on the achievement of a balance between maintaining the water system in a safe and effective manner, while limiting expenditure and water rate increases. A flexible and gradual approach was utilized to achieve financial viability, recognizing that, the utilization of one-time funding sources for the purposes of sustaining the water system is limited, and the reliance on debt to support all future capital expenditures is unrealistic.

Considering historic results and future needs, twenty-year financial projections to the year 2032 were prepared.

Business Interruption Loss

Development of calculations, in accordance with Insured's insurance policy, to estimate business interruption loss of a lumber mill for a specified period of time. Our report was used for negotiation purposes to arrive at a settlement amount.

Corporate Economic Loss

Development of scenarios, reasonably estimating the financial losses suffered by an Auto Parts, Recycling and Services operations as a result of a litigation claim. The loss period was calculated over an extended period due to the circumstances. A significant amount of research was required to support revenue and expense assumptions, as it related to competition, laws, regulations, general industry changes and economic factors.

Support Calculation

Estimates of income for support and summary thereof, to determine an income amount which fairly reflected a person's income, in accordance with the Child Support Guidelines of the Family Law Act. The income for support for these self-employed persons and/or business owners were estimated over a three year period, where taxable income and an amount for income available to the shareholder as a result of interests in companies were considered in calculating the income for support. These reports were for court purposes in matrimonial matters.

Limited Critique Report and Estimate of Financial Losses

Limited Critique Report and Estimate of Financial Losses Review of plaintiff's expert's report and estimate of financial losses as it related to losses suffered by owners of a Deli and Grocery Store as a result of a motor vehicle accident. A Limited Critique Report was prepared to critique an expert's report regarding their calculation of financial losses suffered by the plaintiffs. The Economic Loss Report was a separate report to provide our estimate of the financial losses suffered by the plaintiffs as a result of the motor vehicle accident. The reports were prepared for litigation proceedings.

Preparation of economic loss reports, calculating a variety of loss types in each different case. The types of losses have included past and future employment income losses, loss of housekeeping capacity, future care costs, loss of pension income, loss of health care and benefit coverage. Most of these reports were prepared for negotiation and/or court purposes.
